A tribute to one of my favorite Hitchcock films. Hi Norman! This was taken on the back-lot tour at Universal Studios.
On March 7th we celebrated 3 years of marriage! This cake is a mini-pseudo-replica of our wedding cake. I got it from the same bakery and I got the same flavor. Same colors. Shape is a bit different, but that's okay. We had driven up to park city to spend our anniversary there, and we dug into the cake in the car because it was snowing and freezing outside. Our actual wedding day was beautiful, luckily enough! The cake was delicious.
I love this picture of Nick and Jill at the beach. We went to Newport this summer with my parents. Awesome trip.
New Year's Eve 2010 - Nick took me to see Jewel in Park City! I was so surprised: Jewel is tied for my #1 favorite artist of all time! (the other is Rob Thomas...) The concert was amazing. I know this picture really isn't great, though... you can ish see the stage behind us. Let me tell you, though, she has an amazing voice, and she is so talented as a song-writer and story teller. one of my favorite stories that she told was about when she was 20 (i think) and she played dorothy in an all-star cast on broadway. long story short (she's the story teller, not me) her dad came to an after party dressed in his alaskan rancher garb and someone said to him that he must be very proud of his daughter. apparently he responded the following: "yup. i put my best sperm into that one." :)
Here are some pics of our trip to bear lake over Labor Day weekend. We went up to Dave and Amie's cabin with Ben, Evelyn and Evelyn's family. Laura, Jake and baby Alea met up with us Sunday night.
Mmmm feet. Makes mouth happy! :)
Loving this tutu! here she is 5.5 months old and the onesie is for a 0-3 month old...
Here Jill is studying with nick. she's reading about her first words. He's reading... some history something or other.
I actually know the date of this one! it was august 6th (2010). I got 25 dollar tickets to lagoon through ITE. I did pretty good this day until i went on the colossus and wicked back to back. then my body quit on me and i was done.
Jillian's first swim! She only went in up to her waist. I think the swimming suit top has yet to get wet...
Jillian's first meal! Doesn't she look thrilled?
In April of this year (2010) I finally managed to graduate! I got my bachelors of science degree in civil engineering. Jillian is under the blanket. She's about six weeks old here. My mom and grandparents are also in the picture along with my gorgeous husband!
Nick and my dad along with a few others hiked King's Peak this year. Apparently they all got soaking wet, but that did not impede most of them from making it to the top! This is the highest point in Utah. I was at home for a long night alone. I would have gone except for I have this baby that I can't relinquish to anyone for more than a couple of hours at a time. I have separation anxiety!
These two pictures are from the Dahl family water fight on the 24th of July. It was the 3rd annual water fight, but Jill's first. On the left is actually the after picture. Jilli won a candy bar. She enjoyed it thoroughly. So much that she refused to share with Kelly, though he begged. I must work on her sharing. The right is the before picture. She is thrilled about being able to wear her cute swim suit again. The hat is a little small for her head... even though she's only 4 months old and the hat says it is for a 6 month old baby. I hope that means she's going to be smart.
Going way out of chronological order here... this is the end of June last year when Nick and I were driving out to PA. We stopped for a while at my Uncle Andy's in Ohio and we went to Cedar Point with Lauren and Trevor. This roller coaster is called Top Thrill or Dragster... I hope you'll notice from this picture that Lauren and I opted out. We're not even in line holding the camera. I may or may not have been a few days pregnant in this picture, either way I was done after about 4 roller coasters. I just had to wait in lines with the group for the rest of the day with a slight headache and slight nausea. It was still fun to be there, though. :)
This is Groundhog Day 2010. It only happened once, but it was the best redneck party this side of the Mississippi! A great big shout out to grandma who came up with the whole scheme!
This is a pic of Jilli that I love! She is here at Draper park at one of the summer concerts demonstrating one of her coping mechanisms.
This is when we first moved to Midvale, before she learned how to cope. We're on a shopping trip with grandma and great grandpa. I love this picture. It should be on a greeting card.
This is my baby bear in her blessing dress. LOOK AT THOSE CHEEKS!!! The day she was blessed was awesome. We did it at my mom and dad's house and just family were in attendance. Nick gave a beautiful blessing and the spirit in the house was very strong. She's a lucky little lady to have such a wonderful father who honors his priesthood and loves Jesus Christ and tries to follow His example of what a good man should be.
Jillian, Baby Kate, and Meggie all hanging out at Aunt Amie's.
